In his book, Goethe provides a general exposition of how colour is perceived in a variety of circumstances, and considers Isaac Newton's observations to be special cases. Science has come to understand the distinction between the optical spectrum, as observed by Newton, and the phenomenon of human colour perception as presented by Goethe.

Yiddish Summer
Yiddish Summer Weimar 2010 celebrates the rich Yiddish culture! Already in its tenth year, this popular event includes workshops over several days that are an opportunity to learn more about yiddish songs, dances, the Yiddish language and instrumental Klezmer music. Evening jam sessions at Weimar cafés are a great way for newcomers to discover Klezmer and take part in intercultural dialogue.
