A small but excellent festival - taking place all over Thuringia- is dedicated to this great composer. Bach spent most of his lifetime in Thuringia, he was born here, married here. His children were born in Weimar and baptisted in the Church St. Peter and Paul. In this church 2 concerts of the festival will take place in 2010:

Bach Biennale Weimar
Bach lived in Weimar for nine years. He earned well in Weimar - seven of his children were born here and four were christened in the Town Church St. Peter & Paul, among them: Wilhelm Friedemann Bach. On occasion of the 300 anniversary in 2010 the Bach Biennale is dedicated to him to honour his musical legacy.

Yiddish Summer
Yiddish Summer Weimar 2007 celebrates the rich Yiddish culture! Already in its seventh year, this popular event includes workshops over several days that are an opportunity to learn more about yiddish songs, dances, the Yiddish language and instrumental Klezmer music. Evening jam sessions at Weimar cafés are a great way for newcomers to discover Klezmer and take part in intercultural dialogue.

Park at the Weimarhalle
A Spanish Night
An evening of music in the beautifully illuminated grounds of the Weimarhalle conference centre. Weimar State Orchestra perform works by the famous Spanish composers. A mouthwatering range of Spanish tapas or Paella specialities ensure visitors won't go hungry either.
