Town Castle
The Palace Museum in the former residence palace holds a valuable collection of European art dating from the middle ages and the reformation period up to the beginning of the 20th century. The main highlight is the Lucas Cranach Gallery with works of Lucas Cranach the Elder, Albrecht Dürer and their contemporaries.
The classical staterooms with the festive hall, grand staircase and the large gallery are among the most beautiful in Europe. Temporary exhibits on collection-related topics take place on a regular basis.
