Just seize upon the full life people live!
Each lives it though it’s known to few,
And grasp it where you will, there’s interest for you.

Johann Wolfgang von Goethe, Faust I, Prologue in the Theatre

Summer in Weimar

Goethe and Schiller, Bach and Liszt, Bauhaus and UNESCO – that is Weimar. A small residence town in the middle of Europe. From this place, ideas and artworks took their path into the world. The fascination of this pretty city captured many great spirits who dreamed of an arcadia for humanity. That is Weimar, and during the summer it has yet another dimension: an open city landscape surrounded by green areas, parks and a river. Moving, pulsing, full of life. In the little alleys, in front of the palace and mansions. Art and music everywhere, history, stage, film and boulevard. Always up close to contemporary life, authentic, intelligent, uncomplicated – a whole summer long.
