An Amercian in Weimar: Feininger, churches and the cycle route

Lyonel Feininger was born in New York, USA, and came to Germany from the urban environment of a metropolis. Before and during his time as a Bauhaus master, he discovered Weimar's surroundings with its old, village churches on his extensive bicycle tours. He captured his fascination in today's world-famous paintings, which can be found in New York and Weimar. A cycle route imitates Feininger's tours along the churches.
