Parks in and around Weimar
The castles and parks in and around Weimar were places of leisure and pleasure, of music, art and European dialogue on garden art and all fine arts. Belvedere Palace, Tiefurt Palace and Ettersburg Palace and their parks have been included in the UNESCO World Heritage List.
Goethe and his ducal friend Carl August laid out the Ilm Park. Both were affected by "European plant fever", so that the "Hortus Belvedereanus" appeared as early as 1820, cataloguing the Belvedere plant collection, the largest collection on the European continent.
Today, all parks enjoy European status. Let yourself be carried away by the beauty of nature and the harmony of nature and culture!
The offer is not suitable for travellers with reduced mobility.
