The Bauhaus and Weimar Modernism

Weimar at the beginning of the 20th century and the founding of the Bauhaus and the associated departure are the focus of attention. Cultural developments are placed in the political and social context. During the tour, the Henry van de Velde Arts and Crafts Seminar and the founding of the Bauhaus as well as the Weimar Republic and the National Socialist efforts in the city will be presented and shown. At the same time, it becomes clear how Weimar dealt with its complex past. The tour ends in the "Quartier der Moderne" at the Bauhaus Museum Weimar.
