The Weimar Republic was one of the great changes in German history. It was an experiment. Places like the Haus Am Horn, the Museum Neues Weimar, the Nietzsche Archive, but also the Municipal Museum, the National Theatre, the former Gauforum or the House of the Weimar Republic combine to form a grand history of the 20th century.
A national place of remembrance
The Weimar Republic has its own house. The former Set house on Theaterplatz tells the exciting and contradictory history of the period from 1919 to 1933.
The National Assembly of 1919
The permanent exhibition at the Municipal Museum of Weimar uses numerous original contemporary objects, films, posters and documents to illustrate the political struggle for the future of Germany at that time.
